For Educators: Active Learning Across Healthcare Settings
Active learning places learners at the center of the learning process and increases engagement. This webinar will share five general evidence-based active learning strategies that can be implemented in various healthcare settings. Specific examples of how to best use each in the classroom, hospital, clinic, or simulation center will be shared.

Meet the Presenter:
Dr. Angela Hairrell, PhD, MEd
Director of Learning Support and Assistant Professor
Burnett School of Medicine, Texas Christian University
Dr. Hairrell is a lifetime educator who has served all levels (PreK to professional school) for over 30 years now. She holds a Ph.D in Curriculum & Instruction from Texas A&M University at College Station. Currently she serves as the Director of Learning Support and Assistant Professor in the Burnett School of Medicine at TCU. Her research interests include reading comprehension, vocabulary development, active learning strategies, learning differences. Having spent many years teaching in the public school system and working in higher education research, she is passionate about helping students achieve success through data- and performance-driven assessment, which is especially important to help medical students become effective and efficient learners.
